As parents, when our children come out, we embark on a journey that often begins with uncertainty and a whirlwind of emotions. Through education, compassion, and unconditional love, we learn to embrace and celebrate them fully. We should be hopeful about the possibilities of their futures.

 

But in today’s political climate, our children are too often weaponized by harmful rhetoric and false narratives to further a political agenda.

 

Right now, our voices are more important than ever. By speaking up in our families, schools, churches, and communities, we can push back against these falsehoods and create a safer, more authentic world for our LGBTQ+ children. Our stories can foster understanding, shift perspectives, and drive progress.

We don’t always know how to have courageous conversations that are effective when we are speaking across the kitchen table,  the aisle, or across the ideological divide to create understanding and acceptance.

 

Mama Dragons is partnering with powerful advocacy organizations across the country to facilitate a series of educational opportunities that will teach how to have courageous conversations in all the places where decisions are made that impact our LGBTQ+ families.
