Mama Dragons Statement on The U.S. v. Skrmetti Supreme court decision

Today’s Supreme Court decision is a serious setback for the rights of transgender youth and their families. While not a nationwide ban, it allows restrictive state policies to remain in place—policies that are often shaped by misunderstanding, not medical consensus. This moment calls us to act with greater urgency, compassion, and resolve to ensure all children can access the care and support they deserve.

At Mama Dragons, we are heartbroken—but not hopeless. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Neither the stroke of a pen nor the pounding of a gavel can erase transgender people. No court can take away a mother’s love. No ruling can silence the truth we live every day: affirming your child is not just loving—it is lifesaving.

Trans youth are who they are—brilliant, brave, beautiful—and they deserve to be loved, supported, and safe.

Our children—and our families—deserve to make private medical decisions informed by trusted professionals and rooted in love, not politics.

We will not turn away. We will step forward. We will continue to fight for our children’s right to thrive. We will raise our voices, share our stories, and demand justice until every LGBTQ+ youth is safe, affirmed, and protected—no matter where they live.
