Mama Dragons Statement on the U.S. Supreme Court Decision to Overturn Colorado’s Ban on Conversion Therapy

The decision by the Supreme Court of the United States to overturn Colorado’s ban on conversion therapy is deeply dangerous.

Conversion therapy has been unequivocally condemned by every major medical and mental health association because it causes real, lasting harm to LGBTQ+ youth. This ruling places ideology over evidence and opens the door to practices that violate the most basic principle of care: do no harm.

We are now at a point where interpretations of the First Amendment are being used to justify practices that the medical community agrees are unethical. When free speech is positioned in opposition to established standards of care, it is young people who pay the price.

At Mama Dragons, we will continue to stand with families, with science, and with the fundamental belief that every child deserves to be safe, affirmed, and protected from harm.
